What type of insurance is Ucship?
UC SHIP is a self-funded, comprehensive health insurance program for registered UCI undergraduate and graduate students that is underwritten and administered by the Regents of the University of California. The plan includes medical, behavioral health, pharmacy, dental and vision benefits.
Is Ucship HMO or PPO?
When you get a referral to see a doctor outside the SHC, you'll always pay less when you visit a provider in the Anthem Blue Cross Prudent Buyer (PPO) network. All UC students are automatically enrolled in UC SHIP. The plan also offers valuable coverage options for eligible dependents.
Does Ucship have prescription insurance?
You can fill prescriptions from SHC clinicians and other doctors outside the SHC. Prescriptions filled at the SHC will have the highest UC SHIP coverage, which means you'll pay less for them. You can also fill your prescriptions at any OptumRx network pharmacy by showing your Anthem member ID card.
Does Ucship cover surgery?
UC SHIP offers a range of benefits, including coverage for specialty office visits, prescriptions, diagnostic services, surgery, hospitalization and out-of-area care while traveling, to name a few. The UC SHIP package also includes strong dental and vision benefits and covers most SHC fees.
